The problem

The imposing Belfius Tower in Brussels captures everyone's imagination. Its 4,200 windows are framed with LED strips that light up on special occasions, creating a stunning light show. This unique building houses the Belfius headquarters.

BELFIUS contacted COUST with the request to create an ideal acoustic environment in the meeting rooms where both regular face-to-face meetings and, above all, the many video conferences and team meetings could run smoothly.

After a comparative study of several suppliers – carried out by the acoustic consultancy Venac – COUST BV emerged as the clear winner for optimizing the acoustics.

Our solution

During the first phase, 65 meeting rooms were addressed.

Each room was fitted with one COUSTwall and one or more COUSTbase (acoustic columns, each with different dimensions, prints, positions, and integrated elements (power outlets, light switches, etc.). The work had to be carried out within a tight deadline, with minimal disruption to the meeting rooms and without disturbing employees.

Result

In a difficult period of labor and raw material shortages.

COUST brought this project to a successful conclusion thanks to detailed planning, the flexibility of the entire COUST team, the professionalism of the installers, and excellent cooperation with the BELFIUS project manager – perfectly on time and fully in line with the customer's wishes. BELFIUS is so satisfied with the result that the project has since been expanded.
