City Council of Seraing

The problem

The City Council of Seraing, a town near Liège, operates from a very special semicircular building on Place Kuborn (Place Kuborn) in the city center. The Kuborn esplanade was recently completely redesigned with the aim of creating a pleasant, green walking and relaxation space for residents. On the sixth floor of the building is the officials' spacious refectory, with a beautiful view of the surrounding city.

Our solution

Despite the acoustically perforated ceiling already installed in this room during the construction of the building, the city was still looking for an additional acoustic solution against the reverberation. This is how they came to us. Through an official tender, we submitted an offer for 15 printed wall panels (COUSTpanels), and a few months later we received permission for production and installation.

Result

At the customer's request, we installed 15 COUSTpanels (wall panels) with prints. For the prints, the client sent us photos taken by photographers Didier Gillet and Matthieu Litt. The photos show us a nice overview of the landscape, culture and architecture of the young town of Seraing, which has only been allowed to officially call itself a town since the year 2000. The panels were placed on the semicircular walls of the building, between the windows. In this way, the large refectory was provided with very nice acoustic solutions that also work very well!
