I-mens is an independent care organization, active in Flanders and in Brussels, where 12,000 employees have been working for years for each individual, in all stages of life.

This organization is convinced that every person is capable of taking control of his or her own life with the necessary help. This involves home assistance so that everyone can continue to live in their own familiar surroundings and as independently as possible.

The employees of i-mens take care of everyone, but of course they also need to be taken care of. For handling urgent calls in the Service Center and the 24/24 Contact Center, excellent acoustics are essential to allow the employees to perform their work in comfort.

Coust's help was enlisted.

To improve speech privacy, 52 COUST deskscreens were installed, custom-made double-sided acoustic desk screens. They feature sound-absorbing material on both sides, with an MDF sound stopper in the middle.

The effectiveness of our desk screens is remarkable: when you place one of our desk screens between two workstations, the disturbing noise source appears three times further away - a reduction of as much as 6-10 dB!

Especially for i-mens, COUST devised a separate mounting element to align the screens nicely without the use of separate feet. This way, the desktops could be opened or pushed back as needed.

For visual and acoustic separation between the islands, 14 breezes were also installed. The COUSTbreeze is a room divider with significant absorption capacity due to its very high density acoustic core. The separate panels are interconnected with adjustable steel cables.

Result

The acoustic solutions were produced in i-man's colors and fit seamlessly with the healthcare organization's corporate identity. The staff's reactions to the result and the finish of the desk screens were very positive. After the successful installation of our solutions in Zwijnaarde, the modifications of the office in Sint-Truiden followed, where both the offices and the training room were improved.
