The problem

The problem

In the spring of 2020, we were contacted for a reverberation measurement in a modern, carefully decorated family home in Reet. The residents were suffering from reverberation in the living room, office, stairwell and toilet. So a reverberation measurement was definitely needed to calculate the number of m² of acoustic material needed.

Our solution

Our solution

The living space with loft to the owner's dressing room had a reverberation time of 1.5 seconds. To reduce this to 0.8 seconds, we installed an acoustic ceiling panel (COUSTceiling) in the void at a height of 5.5 meters at the request of the client. In the process, we effortlessly integrated three feed-throughs for lighting electricity. In the office, which was used daily by the owner, there was unfortunately a reverberation of 1.2 seconds. We reduced this reverberation time to 0.7 seconds so that even conference calls could be conducted comfortably here. We decorated the toilet with an acoustic wall panel (COUSTpanel) with a playful photo.

In the stairwell, the acoustics turned out to be the worst. Here we were able to measure a reverberation time of no less than 2.1 seconds! To improve the acoustics here, the client chose our custom wallcovering (COUSTwall) to completely cover the narrow wall just above the stairs. For this, the customer provided a large format family photo so we could cover the panel with it. In terms of m² of material, however, this was certainly not enough (almost 14 m² of material was needed). Therefore, we placed an additional acoustic ceiling panel (COUSTceiling) in this room, nicely connected to the COUSTwall on the wall. Our professionals also integrated electricity here for the alarm, lighting and Wi-Fi fixture. The client was therefore very satisfied with our detailed and professional approach to their problem after the work was completed!
