In rural Assenede we can find the beautiful villa in which restaurant “Oogst” of chef Axelle Moens has its home. Here you can enjoy gastronomic hospitality in a beautiful green setting, if desired also on the cozy terrace. The chef and her team meticulously see to it that each visit becomes an unforgettable memory. And of course, bad acoustics are not part of this. That is why Axelle was looking for an aesthetically pleasing acoustic solution for the large room, and came to us.

The restaurant already had 2 “acoustic paintings” and a micro-perforated gyproc ceiling. However, the acoustics were still very poor once there were many people in the room (also read our blog about this). Our representative was able to measure a reverberation time of 1 second. We reduced this to 0.7 seconds, a more optimal reverberation time for a gourmet restaurant. How did we achieve this?

The client wished to reuse a self-taken photograph and have it printed in large format by us. The photo was already hanging on the wall in the restaurant, but on a small panel. We converted the photo to black and white and printed it in large format to cover an entire wall with our custom acoustic wall covering (COUSTwall). The client was also fully convinced of the efficient operation of our COUSTbase acoustic column, which also does not take up much space and can be moved easily. Here we placed 3 black copies of it. By taking into account the black and white interior with wood accents, we ensured that our acoustic solutions integrated very nicely into the existing interior. The customer was very enthusiastic about the result!
